About Discovery Property Inspections
 INTRODUCTION
My name is Ken Vander Eyk, owner of Discovery Property
Inspections. I entered the field of Home Inspections after 25+
years of being involved in building construction. I have worked
with various architects, engineers and building trades, gaining
valuable experience in residential, commercial and agricultural
structures. Performing Home/Property Inspections is my full-time
business, not a sideline. I am not part of a franchise nor am I
contractor looking for further business “on the side”.
EDUCATION
I graduated, with honours, from the Home Inspection program
offered at Conestoga College. These courses included electrical,
heating and air conditioning, plumbing, structure, roofing,
exterior and interiors. I am also currently in training to
becoming a certified Home Energy Advisor as well as a certified
WETT inspector for wood-burning appliances.
ASSOCIATIONS
Currently I am:
a member of CAHPI (Canadian Association of Home and Property
Inspectors),
an applicant member with
OAHI (Ontario Association of Home
Inspectors),
a member of InterNACHI (International Association of Certified
Home Inspectors).
As a member of these different associations, I continue to keep up
to date on any changes in home inspections through courses and
countless online reference materials.
SUMMARY
My education and experience are beneficial to assisting
home buyers or sellers in making one of life’s biggest decisions.
